researchchemicals.blog publishes practical guides for people who buy and use laboratory chemicals: researchers, lab managers, technicians, procurement teams, teachers and small chemical businesses in the UK, Europe and the USA.
What we cover
- Chemical suppliers: how to choose, compare and work with lab, specialist and bulk suppliers.
- Reagents and grades: purity grades, documentation and storage.
- Lab supplies and equipment: consumables, instruments and how to buy them well.
- Chemistry industry and research: chemistry companies, research labs and the scientific literature.
What we don’t cover
We never review, recommend or link to sellers of new psychoactive substances or other drugs marketed as “research chemicals”, and we never give information on obtaining, dosing or using them. Our Drug Safety section publishes evidence-based information on the health risks of these substances, drawn from public-health sources, so that people understand the dangers and know where to find help.
Editorial standards
- Accuracy. Company facts, figures and regulatory statements are checked against primary sources such as company filings, official registers and regulators, and we link to those sources.
- Brand guides are unofficial. Where we write about a company or brand, the page says clearly that it is an independent guide and not the company’s own website.
- No paid placements. Companies cannot pay to be included in or ranked in our comparisons.
- Disclosure. If we ever have a commercial relationship with a company we write about, we say so on the page.
- Safety first. Our guides point readers to Safety Data Sheets, risk assessments and the law. They are not a substitute for professional safety advice or your organisation’s procedures.
- Updates. We review articles regularly and correct errors promptly.
